Creative Coaching:
Write the story everybody wants to read!

Imagine that all the time and energy you spend on having doubts about yourself, making assumptions about others, limiting your success, would flow freely into your creative life and work. How would that feel like, and what would be different in your life?

When I work with a writer, accomplished or aspiring, the central goal of all our efforts is to empower him or her to write a better story.

Like all coaching, this process is confidential. It is a partnership, determined by the author’s agenda, and designed by coaching standards of ethics. Coaching is a powerful process to accelerate growth through consciousness.

I chose to focus on being a Creative Life Coach, because I have an understanding of the creative process, stemming from my working experience as a produced and published writer. I was certified by one of the best coaching institutes in the country.

When you are ready to move and make a change in your life, the right coaching, like Breakthrough Laser Coaching, may be the spark that gets your engine going, as it happened to Bart, a friend of mine (I’ve changed all names here for privacy).

Later Bart wrote me the following note:
“Sometimes your perception of the events in your own life may weigh heavily on you. I graduated college with the expectation the working world would open its arms to me. Instead, I faced seeking employment in the midst of a great recession. My accomplishments seemed to shine less bright, my future success fading quickly on a distant horizon. I was alone, working a job for which I felt I was underpaid, and felt miserable. Over lunch one day with Ingo, he noticed that I viewed the world in a "glass is half empty" manner. Ingo presented a scenario in which I changed my perception from negative to positive and gently suggested that try it out for a while. So, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and took his advice. I came back to work and instead of seeing my work environment as something I could not change, I looked at it from the perspective of I can always change me. I became more confident and my boss noticed it. I was offered a management position and feel that I am headed in the right direction. Thanks to Ingo for something as simple as noticing how I see the world and offering to help improve that point of view.”

Everything I have learned in my life, my creative work, and in the IPEC coaching training, I will bring into the coaching partnership. All you have to bring is joy and determination, and in case you have lost those, I’ll help you regain them.

Barbara is a gifted writer and journalist. When we started working together, she had almost given up on finding an agent or publisher for her work. She was writing beautiful short stories, and seeing them published was an important validation for her, which seemed to be out of reach at the time. She asked me to work with her on her first novel. It didn’t take her long to become so confident in her writing, that she found an agent, who was very interested in the quality of her work. Shortly afterwards she sent me the following testimonial:

“Ingo gave me an awesome present when he helped me understand, how important writing is for my life and myself. He helped make me see how much power resides in my creativity. To feel comfortable ‘at home with myself’ makes me happy, being in the flow, in the moment, without fear. Working with him I’ve learned how to deal with my assumptions and blocks. His presence and support made an impact far beyond my creative work. In essence, I’ve arrived. How he did it, I don’t know. He continues to do it. There is a lot of passion, empathy, and love he brings into our working relationship.”

A Creative Life Coach has the tools to help creatives to identify and get over personal and writing blocks. Taking care of Creative Time Management, practicing how to get into the flow, setting up financial planning, staying focused on the story, creating a physical and mental workspace, keeping an open mind, developing writing tools, are the prerequisites for an author to write the story everybody wants to read.

With this process the writer develops confidence and trust in his or her intuition, which are important requirements to take the story out to the world of agents, publishers, and producers.

Good things are going to happen!
